Overview

Leake and Watts Services, Inc. is seeking a dynamic HR assistant to handle a variety of employee related administrative duties. You will support our daily HR activities and assist in coordinating HR policies and processes including assisting with the day to day activities of the recruitment function.
The ideal candidate for this position holds an academic HR background. Familiarity with our industry is also an advantage. For this role, you should be able to work autonomously and assist in HR duties like posting job ads, coordinating interviews and contacting candidates.

Responsibilities

Assist recruiters with the hiring process including submitting job postings on line and scheduling candidate interviews.• Carry out processes related to the recruitment cycle, screening, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks and informing employees of their hiring status.• Coordinate logistics for career fairs and other Talent Acquisition activities• Support the onboarding process for new hires, transfers and temporary staff. Complete new hire paperwork and background checks. Create new employee file and ensure paperwork is complete and in compliance.• Enter employee information/changes in ADP workforce Now• Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained• Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures• Assist with processing Workers Compensation and Disability claimsWe offer a great working environment with an inclusive organizational culture committed to serving all members of our community. Qualifications

1-2 years of experience as an HR assistant plus 1 year of experience in recruiting• Bachelor’s degree• Experience with ADP Workforce Now• Familiarity with applicant tracking data base systems is an asset• Basic knowledge of employment laws• Ability to work effectively in a high volume environment, including the ability to balance priorities and meet important deadlines• Strong attention to detail and follow through• Strong communication and customer service skills
